I do not understand: Values.
Values; Intriguing concept to thinketh. Every one person has their own values. It is hard to proclaim that the values within us have receded with time. Even while that is seemingly the case. Perhaps the true question is “Who really decides our values today?”.
Our values make decisions for us for better or worse, as if we are married to them. They remain important throughout generations changing and pushing the limit. There was once value in love, value in presentation, value in work. Now we roll dice to see what happens in our lives hoping for the best. We expect the worst and only accept the standardized criteria as achievements. There is such beauty in uncertainty yet we wage wars against each other to remain so certain. One could argue it's 2023 do not worry for the love you give out to everyone the same way, or the words you spew out like hay. I could argue that sharing your deepest self does not take away value, it does take away the uncertainty. The value becomes less desirable. Be selective with who you share yourself with. We launch ourselves at things before we determine our own values. Their reasons for being are lost. Learning to address our values is the start. To see ourselves in full light, acknowledging what is allowed into our lives. Along with what absolutely is not. A part of reprogramming ourselves is learning exactly what we stand behind and why.
By way of illustration, I have ultimately decided the only people allowed into my life are those of not only great value to me yet, people who I expect. See the saying “You are who you attract” carries all the weight. The truth in that is magnified as you experience it first hand. The numerous occasions where I've sacrificed my values for others leave me wondering how I allowed myself to get to a regretful point. Once I realized it was my values set aside on the night table, I picked them up. Do not conform to the presence of another. Live for you, the ones who match in values or energy will gravitate towards you. Until then you will have you. That is a magnificent thing, let us not take ourselves for granted. Refuse to accept the beliefs, concepts, media, or desires of others. You have your own. Opinions today are dressed in a disguise called facts; wearing it effortlessly. Despite the similarity between us, we are all unique thinkers. Our thoughts need to be expanded, this will positively only happen when you do so with facts.
It is the opinions that cause all the blur. Notice yourself drifting away as you read someone's values. Slowly, their opinions creep into your thoughts. Transforming into your new opinion regardless of your own personal values. Unique is exquisite; robotic is not. I dream to see people vigorous, independent, strong, and healthy. I do not understand how people compromise themselves for the status quo. I would say the reasons could go on in the form of a book. Nevertheless, Forgotten values play a massive role. Be bold in your values, in yourself. Yes, it is okay to not believe the same as others. Yes it is okay to change your mind. It's beautiful actually. Just do it for you; truly. Sometimes we just don't know what we want. Sometimes we just don't understand.
